MINI LEAGUES
Although a tennis club normally has many members, when it comes to friendly competitive play, we tend to play the same group of people time and time again. A major reason behind the creation of the Mini Leagues, was to encourage more interaction between club members, whilst adding a competitive edge. Hopefully this will also encourage members to make themselves available for the competitive summer and winter league club matches in the local leagues around Cambridge.

The format of the Mini Leagues is simple; each league typically comprises four people and everyone plays each other in a best of three set match once during the month. At the end of the month there will be promotions and relegations.

Certain periods during the year become more congested, such as holiday periods or when the winter and summer league club matches are taking place. Therefore, there will be times when the Mini Leagues will be spread over a two month period.

A pre-requisite to entrance to the Cambourne Cup is being in one of the top mini-leagues by the end of May. More details about this can be found here.

If you would like to join the Mini Leagues or simply request further information about them, please contact Mark O'Sheta.

MINI-LEAGUE RESULTS
Here is an example of a finished month of mini-league results. This was in fact the results from the very first month after the mini-leagues were created. Today, there are many more leagues, allowing play at many different levels. You will need Adobe Reader to view the mini-league result below.

FUN DAYS
From time to time Fun days are arranged normally one in the Spring to celebrate the start of the season and another in the Summer near Wimbledon when everyone is tennis mad. The event is aimed to get people playing tennis for fun, nothing too serious and usually consists of a bar-b-q and a few drinks. Keep an eye out on the front page and in the Crier for upcoming events.

CLUB SESSIONS
As well as regular mini-leagues and competitive play, club sessions on Wednesday evenings from 7pm provide an opportunity to play tennis all year round in a more relaxed environment. When there are more than 4 players then the club session is mixed up based on numbers to provide singles/doubles and sometimes a bit of training from the more experienced club members. In colder months we keep the games going fast to make sure no one is sitting out for more than a few minutes.

When you join the club you will be invited to a club session and one of the club's committee members will be there to welcome you and introduce you to other members.

MUGA BOOKINGS
As a member of the club you can make your own bookings for the Monkfield court (via the sheet on the back of the notice board near the Monkfield Lane court) or for the MUGA. If you plan to join the mini-leagues then this is how you reserve court time for your matches.

When you join you can request to be added to the Cambourne Tennis Club Google Calendar, and it is here you can make bookings for the courts or see what tennis events are forthcoming. Check the home page for more details on MUGA bookings.

Turn up to a club session and start playing tennis this week!
